Post Partum Services

Doulas can help new parents quickly gain self-confidence in their new roles while enjoying a smoother, calmer and more fulfilling postpartum transition. 


DOULA GOAL

To assist and provide support to parents and babies in the post partum period.

ROLE OF DOULA

- To ease transition into parenting or to adding an additional child to your family
- Give information and support to help parents recognize baby cues that can support parent-infant bonding
- Soothing techniques for baby
- Adjustment to parental role
- Breastfeeding support ( helping getting breastfeeding established, practical advice and support)
- Mothering the new mother
- Referrals to community resources
- Nurturing for the whole family at a time when our families are not often living close by
- Care for mother recovering from childbirth and a lack of sleep
- Physical , emotional and educational support

Why hire a Postpartum Doula ?

The transition of welcoming a new baby (or babies) into your family can be both physically and mentally draining, especially due to sleep deprivation and uncertainty about the care of your newborn . Therefore there are many advantages to hiring a postpartum doula including:
